There’s something about lo-fi, gritty riffs and grooves that really gets the blood flowing. Beneath Trees brings that sensation out with their noisy, experimental, psychedelic three piece. With roots in grunge and punk, the trio turns it up to eleven with their brand of psych-y garage rock. The band’s sound has been described as “blurring the line between garage rock and punk” by Route For The Underdog. In the band’s most recent singles “Bring Out Your Dead” and “Spores”, there is a noticeable integration of noisy experimental sounds and psychedelica.
Beneath Trees consists of Genevieve Chasty on guitar and vocals, Hemmy Hemmerich on drums, and Andy Poitras on bass. Genevieve and Hemmy have made music together since 2014 and continue to expand their repertoire and develop their sound. The duo has toured the continental US and Eastern Canada extensively as both Beneath Trees and as an acoustic duo. With the recent addition of Andy Poitras on bass, the songwriting process moves into a more experimental space that sets the band apart from the average garage rock band.
The band is coming out of a two-year hiatus with undeniable fervor. In the past 6 months, Beneath Trees has written an entire new set of material, released two singles on all streaming platforms, booked a spring tour, and filmed a music video coming out in March 2022. The band is looking forward to sharing their sound throughout DIY spaces and bars across the south through Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, and Georgia. With so much coming up on the horizon, the members of Beneath Trees are putting their nose to the ground and putting in the work to make themselves known in 2022.
